Somos Lanzarote has requested the resignation or dismissal of the current Councilor of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Echedey Eugenio, of Coalición Canaria, "for having led the public entity and the island to a strike of very serious economic and external projection consequences, as well as for belittling the labor rights recognized to the workers of the CACT".

"If the councilor is unable to comply with what the agreement and a sentence won by the workers dictate, he must leave and stop doing so much damage to Lanzarote," said Tomás López, councilor and spokesperson for Somos in the Cabildo.

For the assembly organization, "we are facing a serious case of obstinacy and inability to reach an agreement led by the Councilor of the Centers and his environment, which has led the workforce of the CACT to an indefinite strike, whose success of convocation and very broad follow-up only confirms the justice of the workers' demands and the political and management incapacity of those who have believed themselves to be owners of the Tourist Centers."

For these reasons, Somos Lanzarote asks the government group of the Cabildo, formed by CC, PSOE and PIL, to "remove" Councilor Eugenio from the negotiating process and "immediately unblock the situation, fully complying with the sentence and the collective agreement and stopping the process of precariousness of working conditions in the Centers through subcontracting formulas through ETT". "It cannot be allowed to prolong this situation, which is so harmful to the Centers, to the Island and to the workers themselves, for pure political stubbornness," he maintains.

In addition, from Somos Lanzarote they announce that "they will not only promote any urgent political initiative that from the plenary of the Cabildo puts an end to this situation and sheds light on what happened, but they will take advantage of said forum to demand political responsibilities from the entire government group (CC, PSOE and PIL), starting with Councilor Eugenio himself, who cannot get away with the enormous damage caused".
