Six new officers have taken office in the Local Police of Teguise. This group passed the selective and mandatory tests and will now have to complete a training period at the academy. In addition, they must complete the 1,200 hours of practice as police officers of Teguise. If they successfully pass both requirements, they will become part of the Local Police permanently, according to the councilman, Miguel Ángel Jiménez.
The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, has indicated that with these new agents the staff is closed with 44 people and "allows to improve the service in the municipality." "It also manages to meet the ratios set by the Law of the Canary Islands System of Security and Emergencies, which specifies a number of mandatory agents, related to the number of residents in the municipality," he explained.
The incorporation of these agents to the staff of Teguise will allow to create new special bodies or reinforce the existing ones. At the moment, the Police has several bodies such as the Environmental and Urban Planning Police, Classified Activities or Social Policy.
