The president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés, has assured that "the deficiencies of the Tinajo road will be corrected", after last week the mayor of this municipality, Jesús Machín, threatened to take the people to the streets if the Cabildo did not give him a solution to these works.
The improvement works of the LZ-20, in the section between Tiagua and Tinajo, began last October, after being awarded for a total of 1,890,000 euros. However, the mayor of Tinajo pointed out last week that these works "are a mess", since on the margins of the road, in some areas, jable slopes that exceed "two meters in height" have been left, which is causing damage to some farms of the neighbors. Therefore, he demanded an urgent solution from the Cabildo.
"The mayor of Tinajo has already been informed that it is planned in the draft budget to provide one million euros for the completion of that road and if any intervention of walls or arrangements on the shoulders is missing, they will be committed as soon as possible," the president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés, responded this Wednesday. Regarding the deficiencies that the mayor denounced last Friday, San Ginés has limited himself to stating that "they will be corrected".
For his part, the mayor of Tinajo has confirmed that they have been told from the Cabildo that "they are going to solve it", although he has pointed out that, if it is not resolved before the 20th, he will take "the appropriate measures". "I am not going to allow the neighbors of Tinajo to have been deceived, that they have taken away the vines, that they have taken away the walls and now they do not want to make them," said Machín, who wanted to make it clear that "the important thing is that things are done well and the general interest prevails."
