The San Bartolomé City Council is putting out to tender the rehabilitation of the pavement of Mamerto Cabrera Avenue, in the Industrial, Commercial and Services Zone of Playa Honda. "This action responds to a historical demand of the citizens of the municipality and the entire island and aims to continue with the commitment to promote the industrial heart of Lanzarote," they point out from the Consistory.
The actions contemplate the resurfacing of the section that goes between the Congelados Roper roundabout and the César Manrique Airport, on the road that passes in front of the Hiper Dino or Cabrera Medina.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, underlines the importance of this work for the functioning and connectivity of the industrial zone, improving traffic conditions and the safety and comfort of the thousands of drivers who travel the avenue daily.
“However, this project not only improves the municipality in terms of traffic, but also aesthetically. We cannot fail to value the efforts of the businessmen in the area to unify the image of the businesses according to our Ordinance and, now, with the resurfacing of this section, we are closer and closer to having an industrial zone that meets the needs of Lanzarote”, emphasizes the mayor.
“The passage of time and the growing volume of traffic in the area have considerably damaged the pavement, so it was our duty to respond to the demands of the population and launch this project that aligns with other actions in which we work to improve the connectivity, circulation and aesthetics of the municipality”, he concludes.
The Consistory allocates an initial amount of 525,167.55 euros to undertake the works and interested companies may submit their offers through the State contracting platform, https://contrataciondelestado.es/wps/portal/plataforma. The deadline to submit offers will end on October 24 and the awarded company will have two months to complete the works from the beginning of these.
