The San Bartolomé City Council has proceeded to pay the sports grants for clubs, municipal schools and athletes linked to the municipality corresponding to the year 2024.
The amount of these grants exceeds 341,000 euros, thus benefiting 19 entities and more than a thousand people, including 20 athletes, girls, boys, young people and adults.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, highlights that "among the objectives of the Corporation and the Sports area are the promotion of health, social inclusion and equitable access to sports practice, allowing people of all ages in different disciplines to participate in competitions, develop a professional career or improve the facilities in which they train."
"It should be noted that the San Bartolomé City Council processed 61 applications this year, 21 more than in 2023, also increasing aid to more than 180 girls and boys in the municipality through three different lines of subsidies, such as the participation of municipal sports entities and/or individual athletes not linked to these in travel to regional, renowned and/or high-level sports events; the maintenance of municipal sports entities and, finally, for the organization of municipal sports schools," he says.
"The San Bartolomé City Council is firmly committed to promoting sports in all its areas, since these lines of support also help to eliminate economic barriers in families and, in addition, to promote values such as solidarity, teamwork and a sense of belonging to the local talent community," he concludes.
