Agents of the intervened this week, in collaboration with the City Council's Animal Welfare department, at a farm that lacked administrative authorizations. During the visit, certain deficiencies were observed in the maintenance and care conditions of the animals.
According to the Local Police, they were able to confirm the existence of circumstances that do not fully comply with the recommended standards of animal welfare and sanitary control, which made it necessary to intervene to prevent possible risks and guarantee adequate conditions.
The Local Police's action, coordinated with the Social Welfare department, was carried out following a complaint filed with the City Council by the association Ademal Lanzarote. The proceedings are now in the hands of the judicial authority.
According to municipal technicians, the farm, which houses dogs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, sheep, and lambs, shows deficiencies in the management and supervision of these animals, which could lead to health or welfare problems
A driver under the influence of alcohol and a property occupied without authorization
On the other hand, the Local Police intervened in traffic accidents these days with the charging of a driver under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Action was also taken in property usurpation with the charging of a person who occupied a property without authorization.
