The Federal Secretary of Cities and Municipal Policy of the Socialist Party, Antonio Hernando, has held a meeting with the public officials of the PSOE in Lanzarote, during which the municipal policy of the party was discussed, with special attention to the so-called Zapatero Plan. In addition, the situation experienced by the Lanzarote institutions after Operation "Jable" was discussed.
Thus, Antonio Hernando recalled that "Cándido Reguera is the height of impudence, because it is impudent to be governing supported by the representatives of the indecent." Referring to Reguera's words, who said as soon as he was proclaimed mayor that the walls of the City Council were going to be made of glass as a sign of transparency, Antonio Hernando pointed out that "Cándido Reguera's windows are dirty, they are very cloudy and that is only his responsibility."
"We have been consistent when we have had a case and we have acted immediately. But we must differentiate. One thing is to park the car badly and another is to steal the car. One thing is to commit an administrative irregularity and another is to commit crimes. One thing is to put your hand in, and that is very serious, and another thing is to commit some irregularity," he stressed.
The member of the Federal Executive Committee made it very clear what the party's position will continue to be in the face of possible cases of corruption. "We are always going to be very consistent and we are going to cut to the chase when our colleagues have been able to commit some of these execrable crimes," he said.
On the other hand, and referring to the latest news that indicates that Dimas Martín has been located with a hidden fortune that could exceed 8.5 million euros, Hernando pointed out that "there are some who have made a good fortune for when they leave politics, there are some who have placed their relatives, there are some who are the worst example of what citizens hate in politics."
Plan E
Hernando also stressed Plan E and recalled that "13,000 million euros between 2009 and 2010, is the largest investment that has been made in the 31 years of history of Democracy." Comparing with previous times, and in the face of criticism from the Popular Party, the federal head of Municipal Policy highlighted that "in the period 2000-2004, with the government of José María Aznar, the additional financing granted from the Government to the town councils was only 650 million euros."
In the face of criticism regarding the fact that the Zapatero Plan has a limited time frame, Hernando stated that Plan E is "employment for today and well-being forever, those infrastructures are going to stay", and recalled that "the Zapatero Plan has served to modernize our country, to modernize our cities, in an unprecedented effort."
