The councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote in the opposition, Óscar Noda, has started his round of institutional visits with the aim of being another voice of the town councils in the plenary session of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, and thus help them to transfer their problems whose competences lie with the first institution of the island.

In addition, the councilor states that it is a "good and respectful" way to approach the problems of all the towns of Lanzarote, but that, at the same time, it is a "natural obligation of the councilor of the Cabildo." "Listening to all their concerns, all their demands and their problems from their mayors undoubtedly brings me closer to that role that the citizens granted me on 28M. Doing so with the aim of institutional respect, seeking proposals and transferring these concerns to the Cabildo so that they become solutions constitutes a great responsibility that I try to assume with diligence," says Noda.

The councilor announces that in the coming weeks he will try to do the same with the rest of the mayors of the island, as well as with other institutions and public and civil representatives.

Haría Issues

In the meeting held this past Friday in the plenary hall of the Haría City Council, the mayor, Alfredo Villalba, was accompanied by the councilors of the municipal government, Ambrosio Viñoly, Paula Montero, Alberto de León and Marcos Lemes.

During the meeting, the northern mayor, as well as the rest of the councilors present, explained the main problem at this time that affects the different payments of Haría, which is none other than the cuts in the supply of drinking water by Canal Gestión and the Insular Water Consortium of the Cabildo de Lanzarote.

On the other hand, Villalba and Noda reviewed the reports that have been requested and that, systematically, they refuse to deliver from the Insular Water Consortium, not only those requested by the Mayor of Yaiza and councilor of the Cabildo, Óscar Noda, but by other mayors of the island.

Another issue that the Haría government team put on the table was the need to modernize the bus transport both intercity and urban, as well as increase through the corresponding administrative actions the number of adapted taxis in the municipality.

The local government also requested a comprehensive plan for the care of the Haría palm grove, which suffers the ravages of abandonment and adverse climatic and sanitary conditions.

The Haría government group conveyed the need for the acquisition of public land in Órzola for parking and to support the large traffic existing in the port of this town to unload the interior streets of inconveniences related to traffic. In the same vein, the members of the Haría government team delved into the historical demand to declare that same port facility as a Port of Fishing Interest.

Another of the highlighted topics was the sanitation of the coastal areas that suffer from breakdowns in the system, or the need to seal the wells and pipes to prevent leaks to the sea.

The councilor, Óscar Noda, committed to the municipal government to transfer all these issues, as well as to ask about the files of the Casa del Cura, the Fire Department detachment in the north or the increase in the number of Day Center places for dependents in a manifestly aging municipality such as Haría.

Finally, Noda thanked the local government for its availability and assumed the commitment to hold these meetings again periodically.
