The installation of a mobile from the Wind Toys series, created by César Manrique in the 70s, has been carried out this Tuesday, on the twentieth anniversary of the artist's death and the birth of the César Manrique Foundation. This piece has returned to its original location, after it was replaced in 1998 by another work by the artist, entitled Energía de la Pirámide, which also belongs to the Wind Toys series.

The sculpture that has been installed, and which has no title, has dimensions of 2.3 x 2.2 x 2.2 meters, according to the César Manrique Foundation. The work was removed from its exterior location to prevent "the fatigue of the materials that constitute it" from being accentuated and to proceed, at the time, with the restoration.

The piece, which is unique, has been restored in the Magisa workshops, in Madrid. This Tuesday, the installation of this work has taken place, which can be seen at the headquarters of the César Manrique Foundation.

Documentary

In addition, in this same space, the documentary "Taro. El eco de Manrique", will be pre-released at 8:00 p.m., a film that approaches the artist and underlines his environmental and territorial activism, his fight against speculation and his passion for the nature of Lanzarote.

The documentary recovers abundant archive images, in which the artist appears with his critical discourse and defense of Lanzarote. Likewise, the testimony of various collaborators is collected, such as José Juan Ramírez, Fernando Gómez Aguilera, Luis Morales, Santiago Hernández, Feliciano Luzardo, Antonio de León and José Manuel Curbelo, as well as assessments by personalities from ecology and architecture such as Joaquín Araújo and Frei Otto. The director of the documentary is Miguel G. Morales.

In addition, at the headquarters of the César Manrique Foundation you can also see the exhibition "César Manrique. El taller de los sueños", which will remain open this Tuesday from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
