The candidate of Nueva Canarias (NC), Pablo Yebra, has asked the Government of San Bartolomé to "increase the cleaning service in public spaces and green areas" and, in the same way, to "start a complete rat extermination campaign".

According to the formation, the proposal is the result of "the complaints transferred in recent months by several residents of the municipality" to the candidate for Mayor. “Two years ago, the government team committed to the cleaning workers to improve their conditions, but unfortunately everything remains the same, neither have they improved nor has the staff dedicated to these tasks been expanded,” explains Yebra.

"The expansion of the staff should have been a reality throughout this term"

The candidate warns that "the City Council has been dedicated in recent years to patching the staff deficit of Cleaning with professional training programs." And he adds that “today it is dedicated to taking advantage of the Training in Alternation with Employment (PFAE) plans to have staff available who are being trained in this type of task, but the expansion of the staff should have been a reality throughout this term”, arguing that said expansion “would not be a big problem for the municipal coffers.”

"The City Council should ensure that quality and not temporary employment is generated"

“The unemployment data in the municipality is not to throw rockets and the City Council is the institution that should ensure that quality and not temporary employment is generated,” he says. In addition, he also demands that "a rat extermination and disinfection plan be launched after the complaints of many residents in areas such as Playa Honda due to the new proliferation of insect and rat plagues."

“It has been practically two years since the last comprehensive disinsection and rat extermination campaign, which was carried out with Canal Gestión Lanzarote through the sewage system,” he says. “Enough time has passed to launch a new campaign,” he adds.

"This time it should also be extended to sidewalks, plots and the most sensitive areas and public spaces throughout the municipality," warns the Canary candidate.
