The Canary Coalition advisor in the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Manuel Fajardo Feo, has submitted his resignation this Thursday at noon. Fajardo Feo was the name that was rumored to be nominated as president of the first Lanzarote institution, if CC finally reached an agreement with PIL, PNL and PP.
For the moment, the Canary Coalition has not issued any official statement on this resignation and Manuel Fajardo Feo has not explained why he has left this position either. Internal sources of CC pointed out that Fajardo's resignation is a hard setback for the current island president of CC, Jesús Machín, in his attempt to promote motions of censure against the PSOE in the Cabildo and several town halls of the island.
However, the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Manuela Armas, has wanted to speak through a press release, in which she has regretted the resignation of the CC advisor.
Manuela Armas has highlighted the work carried out by Fajardo Feo as a member of the CC group in the Cabildo throughout this legislature. "No one hides the importance of the advisor's work for the benefit of the governability of the institution and the general interest of the island in the positions of responsibility he has held, always standing out as a person who loves consensus", the president pointed out.
Manuel Fajardo Feo is one of the leading candidates of the nationalist formation in Lanzarote. In addition to being a spokesperson for CC in the Cabildo, he also served as Minister of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, as a deputy for the island of Lanzarote and is a member of the Executive Committee of the nationalist formation.
