Leticia Padilla has been elected as general secretary of Podemos in Arrecife, after defeating her colleague Daniel Cabecera by 69 votes to 44 in the vote called by the party and held last week.
In total, the Arrecife councilor has received the support of 61.09 percent of the members who participated in this vote, compared to 38.94 percent received by Cabecera, who is also a councilor in the capital. Regarding participation, 114 votes have been registered, although one of them was a blank vote.
Padilla presented her candidacy committing to "give voice and absolute participation not only to the members of Podemos", but "to anyone who has interest and desire to improve" Arrecife. As she stated then, her intention is "to come together in a great candidacy of popular unity where citizen platforms, associations, neighbors and political parties work together on a real project for the city".
