"We had advanced in equality, we had laid the foundations to move forward, but now we are seeing a setback in this whole situation". These are the words of Cristina Almeida, labor lawyer, feminist, former deputy and former senator, who this Friday will offer a conference at the PSOE convention on equality, which will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Torrelavega Society.
Almeida pointed out on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero that equality "is not created by decree, but by coexistence, conviction, education and respect." "All this must be favored and, far from favoring it, now a cut is being made to a lot of situations, in which equality should be promoted," Almeida insisted.
She has also spoken about the situation of economic crisis and the "social, values and ideologies" crisis that Spain is going through. In this sense, she brought up the "corruption, which affects democracy and the credibility of the people", the parliamentary majority of the PP that is becoming a "steamroller, like an absolutism" and the discredit of the Monarchy "for its own actions."
