The Podemos councilor in Yaiza, Ramiro Muñoz, has submitted his resignation from the party due to the "lack of communication" that he claims exists in the purple formation, as confirmed in statements to La Voz. However, Muñoz has assured that he will continue to be an opposition councilor in the municipality, but as an "independent" and representing Lanzarote en Pie.

"That relationship is not flowing as it should have been flowing, and in Yaiza many colleagues have resigned," Muñoz pointed out, who stated that he had remained as the "only member" in the municipality and that this has also led to the "impossibility" of having a Podemos circle in Yaiza.

"Because to have our own group we needed five members," Muñoz detailed, for whom that has been "what has filled the glass."

The councilor has clarified that his resignation is "not" because there have been internal differences, but he has insisted that "communication is missed" within the party, both "at the regional level" and "at the island level." In this regard, despite the fact that the purple formation elected a new regional leadership last October and two months later Ana Nácher was appointed as the island coordinator of Podemos in Lanzarote, he has stated that he has "no" knowledge that any meeting has been held.

"I have not been informed of any meeting that we can attend for different events or internal matters," said Ramiro Muñoz, who, not being able to have a Podemos Yaiza circle, and "seeing that the same colleagues have decided not to continue," has also decided to leave the party.

Specifically, Muñoz has indicated that he is aware that "six colleagues" who were "on the lists" of Lanzarote en Pie-Si Podemos in Yaiza and who "were in Podemos" have resigned from the formation. "I commented with the colleagues that to be the only member of Yaiza, the only thing we could do, as they had resigned, is to do the same, and continue working with Lanzarote en Pie, in everything that affects us in the municipality," he said.

In this regard, it should be remembered that Lanzarote en Pie was initially presented as a citizen platform and was not registered as a political party, although it ended up being an electoral coalition that mainly brought together members of Podemos, such as Leticia Padilla, as well as Equo and "civil society," something that, according to Ramiro Muñoz, has not changed.

"It will continue to be a confluence but, now, instead of representing Podemos, I will go as an independent," concluded the Yaiza councilor.
