They were unable to attend the meeting convened by the residents of Los Cocoteros last Saturday to discuss various issues affecting the area, such as the enabling of the pool for its use, and where the Government team and the opposition parties were present, but Coalición Canaria de Teguise wanted to express its position regarding the enjoyment of sports and leisure facilities in the area by the residents. This year, the residents have not been able to use the pool as in previous summers. Apparently, according to Domingo Cejas, because it has not been enabled by the City Council, which argues "security reasons", since the size of the facilities requires a security guard or fencing.
With the new General Plan for Urban Planning, initially approved, this area will become a public area, but for the moment it is private equipment. However, with the previous Government team, the pool was used by the residents. Coalición Canaria has asked the new Government team to "be sensitive" to the situation of the residents who currently lack a bathing area, since the pond is still under construction.
Domingo Cejas proposes that the City Council agree on an agreement with the administrator of the plot, as the Government team, presided over by Juan Pedro Hernández, did at the time, with the demolition of buildings on the plot, to leave a free space. "It is a very important land bag, of more than 4 thousand square meters, so the City Council should take charge of it", proposes Domingo Cejas. "The residents are not asking for anything strange, just to enjoy the area, as they have done before".
