The Coalición Canaria (CC) Parliamentary Group accumulates 68 percent of the interventions counted by the thirteen Canarian senators during the just over two years of the VIII Legislature of the General Courts, according to official statistics from the Upper House. The four CC senators have totaled a total of 537 interventions, while the other nine senators from the Islands attached to the Socialist and Popular Groups have participated in 244 parliamentary debates.

The Coalición Canaria Group in the Upper House is made up of the following senators: José Mendoza Cabrera (Spokesperson and Senator for the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands), Ricardo Melchior Navarro (Senator for the island of Tenerife), José Luis Perestelo (Senator for the island of La Palma) and Félix Ayala Fonte (Senator for the Island of El Hierro and president of the Committee on Development and Housing of the Upper House).

Another notable fact is that José Mendoza Cabrera and Ricardo Melchior Navarro lead the statistics of the entire Upper House in terms of oral questions to the ministers of the State Government asked in the Senate plenary.

José Mendoza Cabrera, senator for the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands and spokesperson for CC, is -of the 259 senators that make up the Upper House- the one who has asked the most questions to the ministers in the plenary sessions held so far. The CC spokesperson has raised a total of 38 oral questions, all of them related to issues related to the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.

For his part, the CC senator for the island of Tenerife, Ricardo Melchior Navarro, is second in said statistics with a total of 31 oral questions. The next senator, after the two nationalist representatives, is Eduardo Cuenca, from Izquierda Unida, with a total of 29 questions.
