The mayor of Arrecife, Cándido Reguera, has decided to dismiss the secretary of the Corporation, Asenet Padrón, as municipal sources have confirmed to La Voz. It will be an administrative officer of the capital's Consistory who will replace the municipal secretary in her functions.
According to the same sources, this decision has been adopted to "improve the functioning of the institution" and "has nothing to do" with the municipal secretary's statement to the Prosecutor's Office, which [recently opened a new investigation into the Arrecife City Council->64507], and which called several officials to testify as witnesses.
So far, the Consistory has not given any official information about this dismissal, which was signed on Monday morning.
