The Arrecife City Council has launched a tender for the award of the mini
tourist train of the capital. The mini train, which will run along the coast of
Arrecife from 08:00 to 20:00, will have an initial authorization of
two years, and the service may be extended for two more years, "always after
agreeing with the City Council three months before the end of the
contract".
According to the tender specifications of this contest, published on the page
website of the Arrecife City Council www.arrecife.es, the companies interested
in it will have a period of one month to submit their offers,
taking as a premise that the mini train must be composed of a
"locomotive" vehicle and three more wagons.
From Juan de Quesada street to the Cabildo roundabout
The mini train will begin its tourist route in Juan de Quesada street,
passing through Vargas, Coll, La Marina streets, Ruperto González
Negrín Avenue, Mancomunidad Avenue, Colonel Ildefonso Valls de la Torre street,
José Antonio street, Guenia, Fred Olsen, to return through the roundabout of the
Cabildo of Lanzarote. The stops of this mini train will be located at the
intersection of Real Street with Mancomunidad Avenue and in the area of
the roundabout of the Cabildo of Lanzarote "although the route, the stops and the
schedule may be varied by the City Council throughout the concession
and after hearing the contractor".
The fee for the authorization has been established at 6,000 euros per year for
the first year, increasing in subsequent years by the
percentage established by the Consumer Price Index (CPI)
established at the state level.
It should also be noted that the mini train was already launched
temporarily during the past month of December. That tourist train to
motor was equipped with narration and several television screens that
offered information to tourists who toured the city aboard
this locomotive, which reached a maximum speed of 50 kilometers per hour.
