"I am very happy and very happy. I want to see my husband out of jail. It's not just desire, it's that I need it." This is how Manoli Mayo expresses herself, who this Friday began a hunger strike in front of the Tahíche prison to demand that her husband be given the third degree and that in less than 24 hours she managed to get a commitment from the prison director.
Manoli began a hunger strike with her daughter Alba on Friday morning. That same day, at 9:30 p.m., they met with the prison director, who promised to process a permit for Francisco Valentín Troya, 45, and try to grant him the third degree at the end of the month.
After these words with the director, Manoli had the possibility of meeting with her husband, who is in jail for several robberies, according to his wife told La Voz. In total, this man, who also went on a hunger strike inside the prison this Friday, was sentenced to ten years in prison, of which he has served almost all of it. According to his family, he should be released on October 18, 2013.
His daughter Alba was also able to enter the prison to see her father. "The truth is that they have behaved very well with us, I am very grateful to both the Civil Guard, the director of the prison and the educator, whom I congratulate for his work," said Manoli.
"They even told us that if we spent the night outside the prison doing the hunger strike they would bring us blanketss. Luckily, it wasn't necessary," he said.
