Yanira Rodríguez is the new Miss Valterra. The young woman from Lanzarote was the winner in the Miss Contest that was held this Saturday in this seafaring neighborhood of Arrecife during the festivities of Nuestra del Carmen.
In addition, Yasmina Caridad was proclaimed Queen of the Carmen Festivities and Yuliza Quevedo and Melian Quevedo won the titles of first and second lady of honor, respectively. Likewise, Evelin Gomez received the Miss Congeniality award, Yasmina Caridad the Miss Elegance award and Yanira Rodríguez the trophy for popularity.
In total, twelve candidates participated in this contest, which had Orlando Callero as president of the jury. For her part, the Councilor for Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, Nova Kirpatrick, was in charge of presenting the sash to the new Miss Valterra, while the crown was presented by the winner of 2011, Kaoru Guadalupe.
During the gala, organized by the Festival Committee of the Los Marinos de Valterra Neighborhood Association, with the collaboration of the Department of Festivities of the Arrecife City Council and under the direction of Jesús Fernández, the Rosso Crew Dance Group and the Daniel de la Rosa Dance School performed, with the presentation by José Duarte.
