The management of World of TUI, in Lanzarote, and delegates from Jetair met on October 26 with the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients (AFA) to begin the first season of collaboration between these companies, as reported in a statement. At the beginning of the summer season, they signed an agreement establishing a financial donation to the association for each sale of excursions included in their Jetair program, through World Of TUI.
As explained in this statement, the agreement "is part of the TUI Travel Group's commitment to developing a policy committed to sustainability in the social, economic, and environmental spheres."
The company has stated that "sustainability" is also "fundamental" for Jetair, the largest tour operator in Belgium, with which two million people traveled last year. Furthermore, in 2011, Jetair and TUI Travel Belgium received an industry award for the "most sustainable" travel company in Belgium.
World of TUI is a leader in receptive tourism services in Spain and one of the world's leading companies in the sector. Headquartered in Palma de Mallorca, it has a team of 1,200 people and operational offices in 29 tourist destinations in Spain.
For its part, AFA is an association established in Lanzarote in 1995, with the aim of offering family members of Alzheimer's patients support and access to information and resources to face the reality of this disease.
Under this agreement, World of TUI will also support the association "in the dissemination of the various activities planned by this group for 2013" and intends to "continue in the immediate future with this current level of collaboration."
