Tragsa has finally taken over the works of the Avenida Marítima de Arrecife this Wednesday. After the Cabildo concluded the settlement with Ingemont this Monday and definitively terminated the contract with this company, several operators of the public company have started working in the area. Thus, from this Wednesday the clock begins to count the 2 months that, according to the commission, Tragsa will have to finish this project. If this term is met, this work, whose execution was planned in 6 months, will be carried out in almost a year.
Tragsa's works have started 9 days later than initially planned. After the delays accumulated by Ingemont, the Cabildo announced that it was terminating the contract with that company and that Tragsa would take over the works on May 16. That date was postponed five more days later and it was not finally until this Wednesday when they have begun. The counselor Ariagona González indicated that this delay was due to the fact that Ingemont requested more days for the counting of the materials that it has transferred to the Cabildo to conclude the work and also to determine exactly what part of the work had been executed and what remained pending.
From the first hour of this Wednesday some workers have been seen in the area, although for the moment only about five. The rest are expected to join in the coming days. The counselor herself preferred this Tuesday not to venture when Tragsa would start working on the Avenue, pointing out that she still had procedures to prepare, such as the registration of the workers who will execute the work. The public company will charge 656,000 euros for finishing the works. The Cabildo will provide the material that Ingemont had acquired, of which it has made "collection", for 109,000 euros. To this figure could be added the payment of other material that was already commissioned by the previous company and that has not yet arrived on the island.
