The Titerroy Neighborhood Association has once again denounced "continuous lawsuits" and "alcohol consumption" in public roads in the neighborhood, as it did last August, when it sent several letters to the Arrecife City Council demanding more "police presence".
The group claims that, according to the neighbors, "from the first hour of the morning, they start consuming alcohol on the public benches of Avenida Hernández Pacheco" and that "almost every day there are lawsuits in the area" of "the entrance of Hiperdino and near the Benito Méndez Tarajano school".
"Our elders are already very afraid to go shopping in the shops in that area, as well as to the bank", they point out from the association, from where they also state that "they have taken over the benches" that "the elders of the neighborhood have always used", who "sat down to chat with their neighbors".
The neighborhood association states that it has requested "multiple times" from the mayor of Arrecife, Ástriz Pérez, "more police presence to prevent alcohol consumption in public roads" but points out that "to date everything remains the same". In fact, it points out that "there is more presence" of the National Police in the neighborhood, which it claims is "in contact with the neighborhood association", than "of the Local Police itself"
