The VII Edition of the autonomous drawing contest “Paint and Take Care of Your Island”, aimed at Infant and Primary Education, has had the participation of more than 3,853 contestants, from 62 educational centers located in the 8 islands of the archipelago. These numbers are much higher than the previous occasion, since the VI edition had 1,864 participants from 47 educational centers.

This year the edition has been under the motto “We are Volcanoes”, as a reminder and collaboration with those affected by the eruption that occurred in La Palma.

One more year, the Mercedes Medina Díaz Association has organized jointly with the CICAR Business Group, which has become in the present edition the largest autonomous drawing contest, aimed globally at the entire formative stage of Infant and Primary school in the archipelago entirely. From the Association they point out that they have the objective of “incentivizing and promoting in young people the creativity and social awareness of students through the plastic arts in a recreational, instructive, didactic and social way”.

Soon we will proceed to assess the drawings participating in the contest, publishing the winners on the Association's website and citing the winners and their centers. They will be given their well-deserved prize, in the form of tablets and free car days on any island, for the next 6 months.

In addition to certificates for educational centers, to which the Association expressly thanks “their commitment and constant dedication”, because without them the contest could not be held in the conditions of excellence and degree of participation.
