The Arrecife Skatepark, next to El Reducto beach, hosted the Canary Skate Circuit last Saturday, July 27. This circuit consists of 4 events with two categories, Under 16 and Open.
The Lanzarote event was the "Special Event" of the entire Circuit, as it had a prize of 800 euros in cash for the open category and 20 percent more points.
The first date was held in Tenerife on July 8 in the municipality of Los Realejos and the first place in the Open category went to David Edwards from the island of Lanzarote. The second event took place on the island of Fuerteventura last Saturday, July 20 and the first place in the Open category went to José Hernández, also from the island of Lanzarote.
The third event was held in Lanzarote, with more than 200 people in the audience and the best level of skateboarding in the Canary Islands. Vans and Monster were the sponsors and the Arrecife store Pampero was also a collaborator.
There were more than 40 competitors between both categories, three judges
experienced in this type of event, a speaker who narrated minute by minute the tricks of the participants and all accompanied by the music of the DJ who created the perfect atmosphere for this great event.
At 4:30 p.m. the Under 16 category began, with participants from Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. There were two rounds of one minute where each skater showed all possible tricks using the different modules or ramps of the Skatepark. The judges evaluated the number of tricks, and the difficulty of them.
Finally, only eight competitors advanced to the final. Third place went to Gabri Melián (Gran Canaria), second place to
Marcelo Herrero (Lanzarote) and first place to Víctor Valencia (Tenerife).
At the end of this category, a few minutes were given for the Open category to warm up. In this case, the winner was José Hernández from Lanzarote, in second place was Sol Rosales, from Fuerteventura, and in third place Pablo Pérez, from Tenerife.

Hernández.
Grow Producciones S.L together with the Department of Sports of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Department of Youth of the City of Arrecife were the organizers of this spectacular competition, which in its fourth edition has demonstrated "its growth", according to the organizers.
Next Saturday, August 3, will be the fourth and final event in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria where the champion in both categories of the Canary Skate circuit 2013 "Vans Canarias Skate Series", presented by Monster, will be defined.
