The traditions of Lanzarote, in thirteen documentaries

The traditions and customs of Lanzarote come together to give life to a series of DVDs that aim to spread them around the world. Aderlan (Association for Rural Development of Lanzarote) has re-edited the thirteen documentaries that a specialized production company made at the end of 2005, with the intention of putting them on sale in the most significant places on the Island.

From the ceramics of Mojón to the wineries of La Geria. Each documentary takes a tour of the activities that make up the conejera identity. Livestock, cochineal, salt production in Janubio, palm crafts, malvasia wine, fish salting, clothing from the 19th and 20th centuries, Easter ranches, traditional games or the manufacture of the quintessential Canarian instrument, the timple, are some of the protagonists of these stories. Without forgetting what characterizes each land and almost always manages to conquer the visitor: gastronomy. In this case, with the documentary "Lanzarote Stoves".

"The aim is to spread the cultural and natural values of Lanzarote, as a complement to the existing tourist product", explained Mercedes Robayna, manager of Aderlan. The association will take advantage of the Los Dolores Craft Fair to put these documentaries on sale, which are presented in three packages. "The idea is to also offer them to the most representative bookstores on the Island", explained Mercedes Robayna. In addition, it is intended that "Traditions and Customs of Lanzarote" be put on sale in the shops of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers and in the museums of Lanzarote. For this, the DVDs include translation in English, French and German.
