Widows and widowers have walked this Wednesday along the Avenida Marítima of Arrecife until reaching El Reducto beach, where the sardine has been burned, thus saying goodbye to the capital's Carnival of 2014. The procession started around 6:00 p.m. from the vicinity of the Town Hall. The murga Las Vacilonas, winners of this year's murga contest, was in charge of burning the sardine.

Amid tears and in strict mourning, the procession has reached the end of the beach, near the Theme Park, where the sardine has burned in the funeral pyre. In addition to numerous widows, murgas, comparsas, the Carnival queens, both adult and children, as well as the Reinona and a group of masquerades have also participated in this carnival farewell.

This act has brought the Arrecife Carnivals to an end.
