The tapas route has already begun in the towns of Villa de Teguise and Costa Teguise, which the City Council promotes with the collaboration of local businesses, and which will be part of the Christmas festivities until after Epiphany.

In this second edition, 22 bars and restaurants are joining the initiative "in order to boost commercial life during these Christmas dates," they report from the City Council. The offers of these establishments with respect to tapas, at 2.50 euros, "include the drink, be it wine, beer or soft drink."

During the opening day, the mayor, Juan Pedro Hernández, assured that this is "a good opportunity to discover the varied gastronomy exhibited by this town, where we can find typical tapas from different places in Spain. Not in vain our country is a pioneer in the healthy and sociable custom of tapas".

"Tapas" passport

Both in La Villa and Costa Teguise, participants in the routes can use the "tapas passport", a small card where they can stamp each of the stops they make on their routes. By visiting and stamping a minimum of 15 bars, participants can participate in a raffle.

The premises that participate in the second tapas route are the following. In La Villa de Teguise: La Palmera, El Chiringuito, Acatife, Centro Socio Cultural, El Patio, El Rincón de Manuel, Café Jaleo, El Zaguán, La Galería, La Crepería and La Tahona. And in Costa Teguise: Patio Canario, El Maestro, Txapela, La Pikada de Kerman, La Repikada, LÁperitivo di Alessio, El Bocadito, Don Tango, Somelier, Delicias and El Catalán.
