The recreational cultural association of businessmen of La Tiñosa (ACRE) has informed through a statement that the Fair held in the Plaza del Varadero of Puerto del Carmen every Sunday since last September 23 has been suspended.
According to the association, this temporary suspension is due to "the fact that from the first day that this fair began with the collaboration of the Department of Tourism of the city council, to which we are grateful, we have been waiting for the city council to grant us all the relevant permits for the realization of this event." They add that "it has been impossible and therefore we have made the decision to suspend this fair indefinitely until the council grants us the necessary permits to continue with it."
Finally, from ACRE "we hope that this situation will be resolved as soon as possible since this fair had managed to consolidate itself as a great attraction within our municipality for the residents of the municipality as well as the entire island and tourism as a different way to spend Sundays with family or friends. However, from the association we will continue to organize specific events for the benefit of the town and tourists, hoping to have the support of the city council for these activities."
