The closure of Barajas Airport due to the snowstorm has affected 42 flights scheduled with Madrid at the Canary Islands airports this Sunday, eight of them in Lanzarote, both departures and arrivals, as reported by Aena sources to Europa Press.

These sources have specified that for the moment it cannot be said that all flights have been canceled, since some airlines are waiting to see how the day evolves and if the Madrid Airport finally becomes operational again.

This Sunday there are a total of 712 operations scheduled at the Canary Islands airports and the most affected by the closure of Madrid-Barajas are the Gran Canaria Airport, with 15 operations, and the Tenerife Norte Airport, also with 15 operations and eight in Lanzarote.

At 1:00 p.m. the situation at the Adolfo Suárez Airport will be evaluated to specify the reopening, which will be "very gradual", according to Moncloa. In any case, the Airport will maintain the suspension of operations until at least this Sunday afternoon.

On the other hand, a Vueling flight that was to make the Tenerife Norte-Zaragoza route had to be diverted to Barcelona due to bad weather.
