The BMW car designed by César Manrique in 1990 can be seen in an exhibition in London this summer, coinciding with the Olympic Games. It will be exhibited alongside 15 other vehicles from the German brand's 'BMW Art Car Collection' in the public parking lot on Shoreditch Street.

The exhibition, under the name Art Drive, according to the website autobild.es, will be part of the London 2012 Festival and will be done in collaboration with the Institute of Contemporary Art and the London City Council. It opened on July 21, will be open until September 9 and access will be free.

The collection of cars painted by artists for BMW began in 1975 with Alexander Calder and has also included, in addition to Manrique, Frank Stella, Sandro Chia, Ken Done, Ernst Fuchs, David Hockney, Jenny Holzer, Matazo Kayama, Jeff Koons, Roy Lichtenstein, Esher Mahlangu, M.J Nelson, A.R Penck, Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol.

César Manrique was in charge of the tenth model to be added to the collection, a BMW 730i from the 7 Series, the largest and most luxurious car of the German brand. On the other hand, in the exhibition, still open and inaugurated by the César Manrique Foundation at its headquarters in Tahíche about the artist from Lanzarote for the twentieth anniversary of the creation of the FCM, you can see a model of this vehicle, in addition to the original Seat Ibiza that he painted for that car company.
