Under the slogan "We are all José Miguel", the associations Movimiento Vecinal Argana Viva, Pueblo Maho, COUP, Lanzarote Limpia and the Frente de Lanzarote platform gathered this Thursday afternoon in La Geria, to support the man who reported being run over by a businessman whom weeks before he recorded to denounce that he is "looting" rofe in La Geria.
"Don't be afraid, we are here", "Lanzarote ¿Biosphere Reserve? or "Third world corruption. Justice for José Miguel", are some of the messages that could be read on the banners carried by the representatives of these associations in the concentration, which was also attended by the daughters of the affected.

The five associations thanked this Wednesday in a statement, after the news published by La Voz, that "there are people on the island who are not indifferent to the destruction and degradation of Lanzarote's natural heritage”.
“It is necessary for society to publicly support the protection of natural heritage and for the population to know that all people who report infractions or crimes against the environment will have the support of associations and groups in Lanzarote”, said Aduén Andres Morales, PhD in Biology from the University of Birmingham, member of the Lanzarote Limpia association and founder of the Fight for Nature Lanzarote platform.

“This is a clear example that denouncing the attacks that are committed against the environment on this island is risking your life”, said Alberto Ucero, predoctoral researcher at the CSIC and founder of Frente de Lanzarote, who pointed out that with said support he also wanted to "make visible" the "third world corruption that exists in Lanzarote”.
The Frente Lanzarote platform also published a video on Thursday morning, showing the area "where the rofe has been extracted" to show how they have "tried to hide" the hole that has been made, which "is huge". "It's incredible, all this looted", Ucero pointed out.
