The Charco de San Ginés was filled on Tuesday night with traditional Canarian and Porteño music from old Arrecife. The show began at 8:30 p.m., next to the House of Fear. The first to take the stage were the 17 members of the Alborada Peña de Lentisco group.
The group has been bringing joy to different parts of the island for about 20 years, and has participated with its songs in the masses of the main festivals of some of our towns. In addition, twice a year he visits the Tahiche penitentiary center, bringing his music to the inmates, who always receive them with affection.
On this night of San Ginés, Alborada offered a one-hour recital, choosing songs with a marine feel, recalling some of those that were heard in the past during these festivals.
Secondly, the group Los Encontrados performed, which has about 20 members and is currently celebrating its tenth anniversary. This group of men and women participates in the different festivals of our island, folk festivals, pilgrimages and markets, among other events.
The family of Los Encontrados chose a very varied and festive repertoire for this night, with very Canarian themes. The audience followed them with the refrains, while accompanying them with applause.
Once both musical concerts were finished, the management of the House of Fear presented them with a replica of a sailing boat made by hand by Gervasio Fuentes, a resident of Charco de San Ginés.
