The new Agricultural Market of Teguise has been inaugurated this Tuesday morning in the Pueblo Marinero of Costa Teguise, where from now on it will open every week from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lthe councilor in charge of Flea Markets, Lourdes Cabrera, attended this inauguration together with the councilors Miguel Ángel Jiménez and Marisol Armas.

The new market, which will offer a wide variety of high-quality foods and products such as organic fruits and vegetables, honeys and artisanal jams, cheeses and wines from the area, bread, artisanal pastries and liqueurs, "has been very well received by residents and tourists", according to the City Council.

Lourdes Cabrera has expressed her satisfaction "for the great influx of public and for the sales that have been made on this first day." She also pointed out that "this new commercial commitment responds to the demand of farmers and ranchers in the municipality and represents a new center and economic and social engine of the area, as well as a space where tradition can be rediscovered with innovation, making one of the main tourist areas of the area serve as a setting for the commercialization of our most traditional products."

This new commitment is part of a series of actions that will be developed in order to boost and promote the network of Markets and Flea Market of Teguise, which already amounts to six in the municipality. In this sense, the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, highlights "the commitment and support of the City Council to the agricultural sector of the municipality, and invites the residents of La Villa, Tahiche and Costa Teguise to take the network of Teguise markets as points of reference for the purchase of fresh and local products."

"For our part, we are going to continue to be defenders of our agriculture and our agricultural sector," says the mayor.
