The municipal tent of Teguise was the stage chosen one more year by the Folkloric Group La Gran Aldea de Teguise to celebrate its XX Folkloric Festival. At 9:30 p.m. it began with the performance of the hosts who preserve the traditional songs and dances that have been represented since time immemorial in each of their manifestations here on the island and when they travel abroad representing Teguise and the island of Lanzarote. The members of La Gran Aldea took great care and dedication in each of the chosen pieces such as the Folía, Isa, Seguidillas or Malagueñas with slow choreographies accompanied by melodies marked by sounds where each of their tones is a caress for the ears of the attending public.
As usual, La Gran Aldea recognizes the altruistic work of people or cultural groups who work and care about keeping the customs and traditions of the Canary Islands alive.
This year the recognition went to the "Esperanza Spínola Artistic Group of Teguise", for the work that for so many years they have continued to maintain so that theatrical performances continue forward. As a sign of gratitude, three members of the theater group surprised the organizers and the public with a small play with Canarian overtones.
Next, the guests to the festival took the stage, the Aíres del Norte folkloric group arriving from the city of Gáldar in Gran Canaria. A very large group that was pleasantly surprised by the colorfulness of their clothing as well as their very well-matched voices supported by the refined musical chords. The voices were joined by their varied choreographies, taking a tour of some of the islands with pieces as traditional as El Siote Palmero, La Berlina Herreña or the Malagueñas de Gran Canaria.
Each and every one of the members of the La Gran Aldea Group gave their all once again so that the attending public could enjoy a night marked by traditions. They also presented the attendees with Canarian products that were distributed around the tables such as cheese, pejines, roscas de bizcocho, wine, water and some other traditional sweets. With a parrandera isa, the XX Edition of the Festival came to an end.
