Students from IES Arrecife have made an iron replica of César Manrique's sculpture "Fecundidad", which can be seen until this Friday in the Exhibition Hall of the Arrecife City Council, located in El Charco de San Ginés. Specifically, thirteen students have created this 1:10 scale replica, who belong to the plumbing, domestic air conditioning and mechanical manufacturing module of the initial professional qualification program, leading to a degree in E.S.O.
The presentation ceremony, which was held on Tuesday, included the intervention of teachers and tutors, as well as a representative of the students and the CEO of the Centers, José Juan Lorenzo. The event ended with the screening of a simple video about the creation process of the work.
The innovative idea of making a replica of "Fecundidad" came from the teaching staff of the educational center itself, which had the collaboration of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, which provided the documentation resulting from the measurement project of the original work.
