The members of the jury unanimously agreed on Thursday night to award the first two prizes of the Teguise Drag Gala contest to Drag Sethlas, winner of an economic endowment of 600 euros, and to Drag Lemnos, who received the second prize of 400 euros.
Both were the winners of the third Drag Queen Contest of the Carnival of La Graciosa, Costa and Villa de Teguise 2019, in which nine contestants competed.
The gala was held on the stage installed in the parking lot of the CC Nautical of Costa Teguise and featured performances by the transformist Julio Artiles and the Comparsa Los Cumbacheros.
Traditional Carnival
The Plaza de Los Leones of the Historic Site of the Royal Villa de Teguise will become this Friday a meeting point for the oldest artistic expressions of the Carnival of Lanzarote, the Canary Islands and some towns of the Peninsula.
For the fourth consecutive year, the City Council of Teguise has opted "to recover and transmit to the public the rich and varied cultural heritage of these festivals, through a great parade of manifestations of diverse communities".
Los Guirrios de Llamas de La Ribera (León), La Chirigota Sin Clase (Cádiz), El Baile de Las Viejas a Caballotas (La Palma) and the Carnival de Los Empolvados de Canarias, will accompany from 8 pm Los Diabletes de Teguise, Los Toros de Tao and Tiagua, and Los Buches de Arrecife, who together with the Parranda El Golpito will offer "a spectacle of customs in which Teguise is once again the host with the aim of bringing all these traditions closer to the general public in the best of environments".
