We have seen you many times in Lanzarote and you are back on the island

Yes. In fact, I have been to the San Ginés Festivities a few times. I think it's going to be my fetish place. The first time I went I was presenting an album and now I'm preparing a new maxi and it seems that it's the place where I have to premiere it. A place of inspiration, rather.

After leaving OT, you have recorded an album called "Into My Soul" and you have been on many stages in the islands. What can you tell us about your career after passing through Operación Triunfo?

After the contest and the tour and all that movement, I needed some time to find myself and prepare my first album. I spent almost 2 years to release the album. I have moments when I have a lot of work. For example, I currently collaborate on María Teresa Campos' program, "Que Tiempo Tan Feliz", and I am preparing a film in which I participate with an appearance singing the soundtrack of an animated film, in addition to preparing the new maxi. I'm always on the move. Usually many events and charity concerts come out. I usually take things from concentration. I don't do things crazy. I am too focused on what I do.

You talk about charity concerts. You collaborate with the family of Patricia, a girl who needs to be treated for her illness in France.

I don't consider it a help. I simply do what I can. When I met the girl I couldn't stand idly by. It was getting involved and now it's part of me. She is someone I love and you suffer the same. We have had people who have wanted to collaborate with this cause, fortunately. Also, on August 24th we have a concert in Caleta de Fuste to raise funds for an association in the United Kingdom. It has been one of the conditions that I have set, to raise funds also for Patricia. I am very happy to know how the girl is evolving, as well as always being there when she needs me

What could you say about your album "Into My Soul?

We continue working with "Into my soul". We had a very hard year of promotion throughout Spain and we did many things with it. In the first two weeks it was one of the best-selling albums, something that was very stimulating and helped me to continue thinking about staying in music. Therefore, I moved to Madrid to live, and we are still moving the album. These are unpublished songs, fused with soul, my star element. Now I am preparing a maxi more directed to electronics, but without losing sight of the soul. Something new, since I always like to take risks and try new things.

Do you think you will always be considered as a former contestant of the Operación Triunfo program?

I guess it's inevitable. It's something I can't deny. Denying it would be denying myself. I have participated in the program and I will always be an "ex triunfita" as people say, although many people use the term in a pejorative way, something I do not understand. We went to look for a future and I have lived important things. I have met people who have helped me a lot in this journey. I am proud to say that I am an ex-triumfita. You also find closed doors and disappointments, as everywhere. But the program has helped me a lot.

What do you take away from your experience in Operación Triunfo?

I think that in general, they are all very good things. I have friendship with almost all the colleagues, people from the team, and I learned things about myself that I did not know. All that helps you to improve. Not only artistically, but personally.

Do you consider that the program has become more of a show than a talent program?

It has always been a reality show. Although people think otherwise, there is work there. Even though it is recorded 24 hours a day. It is a very intense pace of work. It is an academy. If you don't learn, honestly, it's because you're a denier.

Do you have to leave the islands to succeed?

Absolutely yes. Unfortunately it is so and I wish I could say otherwise. Not only leave the island, but also the country. I have a project to go to the United States. I had it prepared for this year, but I have postponed it due to the release of the new maxi. I made the decision because I needed to express myself in another way, since here, apart from the crisis, there are also sociocultural factors. I cannot express myself in a country where creative freedom is not so open, it does not exist. People limit themselves to doing what the record company says, and those of us who go free have difficult access to the media, to the stages. Especially someone new like me, who although I have been in music for almost 15 years, I have only been doing it professionally for 2 years.

How is this summer presenting itself?

I have events in the peninsula and very few in the Canary Islands. A pity, since I would like to at least have a ray of sunshine. We will also continue preparing the new maxi.
