The baptism ceremony of Carlos, the couple's third child, was held in the church of Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios, one of the oldest architectural monuments in the Canary Islands, whose building was erected on the edge of the current Timanfaya National Park, in the town of Yaiza, in the south of the island.

The event was attended by about a hundred guests, including the husband of Infanta Elena, Jaime de Marichalar, Doña Irene, sister of Queen Sofía, and the siblings of Alexia of Greece, including Pablo of Greece and his wife, Marie-Chantal Miller, and the parents of Carlos Morales, María Teresa Quintana and Miguel Morales.

Also, numerous family members and friends of the couple attended the baptism, including the businessman from Lanzarote, José Calero, one of the people who influenced Alexia and her husband to take up residence on the island.

Queen Sofía and her daughters, as well as Jaime de Marichalar and Constantine and Ana María of Greece, were received upon their arrival at the church by the mayor of Yaiza, José Francisco Reyes, and his wife, Antonia Torres. The Queen and her two daughters will leave the island between Saturday and Sunday for Madrid and Barcelona.

The baptism ceremony lasted for about forty-five minutes and, at its conclusion, the guests moved to a restaurant in the Puerto Calero urbanization, the town where Alexia and her husband reside, to celebrate the event with a lunch.

As a resident of the municipality of Yaiza, Alexia of Greece has participated in several social events and has sponsored events such as a sailing regatta or the creation of the Cetacean Museum of Puerto Calero.
