The City Council has already reopened the Playa de los Charcos in Costa Teguise for swimming after the "dirt" that was detected in the water and forced its closure last Friday disappeared.
It was Public Health who recommended that the City Council close the beach to swimming after detecting "quite high" levels of dirt in the water. "On Thursday afternoon-night there was a fairly high tide and the waves reached the upper part of the avenue. There are two storm drain manholes there and the tide carried the dirt that was in those manholes inside," explained the Councilor for Beaches of Teguise, Eugenio Robayna, this Monday morning on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero.

Now, after the latest water analyzes carried out by Public Health came back negative, the beach has been reopened for swimming, although controls will continue to be carried out on it as a precaution, as confirmed by the Councilor for Beaches of Teguise, Eigenio Robayna.
