This Sunday, September 16, the "official" pilgrimage was held to venerate the Virgen de Los Dolores and bring her offerings. According to sources from the Tinajo town hall, about 20,000 people came to Mancha Blanca throughout the day.
From early in the morning, hundreds of pilgrims walked along the island's roads to Mancha Blanca. Many of them were integrated into the marches organized by the different town halls. At around twelve noon, the walk began from Tinajo to the gates of the Hermitage where the Virgen de los Volcanes was waiting to receive all the offerings and expressions of affection. A truck was filled with all the kilos of food that the pilgrims delivered to the parish.
For four hours the pilgrims paraded through Mancha Blanca and after the offerings they stayed to dance in the traditional Baile del romero until nightfall.
The minor interventions that the emergency services had to carry out were basically due to heat stroke in elderly people and the planned assistance that is usually given in concentrations of a large number of participants. Without having to regret, fortunately, any serious attention or incident.
