Lanzarote has already registered the first discharge of a patient with coronavirus, as announced by the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo.

Specifically, this is one of the two tourists who tested positive last Thursday, March 12, while staying at a hotel in Playa Blanca, becoming the first cases registered in Lanzarote.

As La Voz reported, this tourist couple, consisting of an Argentine woman and a Swiss man, arrived on the island on Tuesday of that week and the next day began to notice mild symptoms. After that, the man received a call from his sister, telling him that she had just tested positive and recommending that they get tested.

Since then, these two tourists have communicated the situation to the hotel and remained in the room. Health officials traveled there to carry out the tests, which ended up being positive.

As these were not serious cases, the two tourists remained isolated in their room inside the hotel establishment, although they were later transferred to another location, where they have complied with the isolation established by the protocol.
