José Tenorio de Paiz, who was one of the first pharmacists of Lanzarote, passed away this Thursday in Arrecife, at the age of 89.
José Tenorio de Paiz, who was the brother of the also deceased former mayor of Arrecife, Rogelio Tenorio, and uncle of the current Minister of Economy and Finance of the Cabildo, Isabel Martín, ran a pharmacy in Haría from 1972 to 1975.
After that, he opened what was the eighth pharmacy in Arrecife, where he worked until his retirement in 2008, passing the business on to one of his sons. In addition, José Tenorio de Paiz was a pharmaceutical inspector in Arrecife and Haría and Health Councilor of the Cabildo, under the presidency of Antonio Lorenzo, between 1979 and 1983.
The wake will be installed at 4:00 p.m. this Thursday at the Tanatorio de Alianza Canaria located in Altavista. The funeral mass will take place at 12:00 p.m. this Friday in the Church of San Ginés, from where the body will later be taken to the Arrecife cemetery for burial.
