Four women from Tinajo have joined forces to help in the fight against COVID-19 by making masks.
According to the City Council, May Hernández Martín, from Regalos Con Arte, María del Mar Lemes García and Julia De La Cruz Quintero, from Tu Moda Sarantonton and Mercería Tinajo, and the seamstress Crucita Quintero, are making masks for the Local Police and Civil Protection of the municipality.
"The need on the island of Lanzarote is so great that the initiative of these four women from Tinajo is already helping nurses at the José Molina Orosa Hospital, but also other security forces such as the Civil Guard," the City Council also highlights.
The Councilor for Health of the City Council of Tinajo, Yurena Cubas, has thanked on behalf of the Consistory "the selfless and more than plausible work of these four residents of Tinajo." "In my name and in that of the Department of Health that I head, I can only thank them for their work of incalculable value."
