Arenas Internacional School of Lanzarote, together with Arenas School in Gran Canaria, and after authorization by the International Baccalaureate world organization to teach the Primary Years Program (PYP) in Early Childhood and Primary Education, have become the first and only international educational centers in the Canary Islands to teach the three IB (International Baccalaureate) programs in all their educational stages, from Early Childhood to Baccalaureate.

The International Baccalaureate Programs, taught in more than 4,000 public and private schools around the world, are a global benchmark in education due to their incomparable academic rigor and advanced methodology that achieve a broad personal development of students. The implementation of these programs requires compliance with strict requirements in teacher training, in the concretion of study programs, in the way of teaching and learning in the School and after the Center has passed a rigorous evaluation and authorization by the International IB Organization, with more than 60 years of experience.

After the success achieved with the Diploma Program (Baccalaureate, and aware of the multiple benefits that the IB international programs have for students, teachers, the institution and society itself, Arenas Internacional School undertook the adventure of preparing the entire educational community to become an international school expert in modern languages.

The road has been arduous and demanding, but also motivating and exciting in each of the programs implemented. First the Diploma Program for Baccalaureate, then the Middle Years Program (MYP) for Secondary students whose authorization was obtained last school year, and finally the Primary Years Program (PYP) for Early Childhood and Primary that has been certified in these days. This authorization makes it, together with Arenas School, the only schools in the Canary Islands and one of the 13 in Spain to have these studies, which prepare children from an early age for effective learning, providing them with tools and strategies that allow them in the future not only to achieve success but to become people capable of contributing to improving the world around them.

Belonging to this global network of Schools committed to high-quality education, continuous professional development and shared responsibility, means that students obtain an excellent academic and multilingual education that educates in solidarity, the defense of critical thinking and personal reflection, in which students are the protagonists of their learning. With this certification, our students can validate their studies in more than 140 countries.

The programs of the prestigious IB organization give students multiple advantages that those who do not study them do not have, as different studies show. Thus, a global study of the International School Assessment conducted between 2009 and 2011, PYP and MYP students demonstrated superior performance to that of students who did not study these international programs.

Other studies, according to the IB organization, indicate that graduates of the Diploma Program (DP) complete their university studies earlier than their peers, feel more prepared to carry out university work that requires research, and can better withstand demanding workloads and the challenges of time management.

With the implementation of the three IB programs, undoubtedly the best educational programs that currently exist worldwide, Arenas School - Arenas Atlántico and Arenas Internacional School culminate an ambitious innovation project always in favor of educational excellence.
