The program, financed by funds from the European Union through INJUVE, seeks with this type of meeting to "build a better Europe through on-site knowledge of the customs and traditions of the countries they visit", as reported by the president of the Tazzay Youth and Cultural Association, Nereida Pérez, representative of the Lanzarote children who are going to share this meeting. The rest of the visitors belong to associations from European Union countries such as Poland, Hungary, Sweden and the Azores.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Inés Rojas, the Minister of the Presidency of the Corporation, Luis Arráez and the Minister of Youth, Francisca Toledo, received this morning a group of 29 young people who are participating in a multicultural meeting that will extend until next Saturday the 29th and whose objective is to learn about the flora and fauna of each country and its impact on popular culture. The Tazzay Association, promoter of this event, has among its members English language interpreters, which is the language required for the approval of this type of project, in order to facilitate communication between the boys and girls of the exchange. During these days, the teenagers will learn about the orography and idiosyncrasy of the Island, visiting the most characteristic places of Lanzarote.
