The award-winning designer from Lanzarote, Oswaldo Machín, has chosen the enclave of the Mayor Guerra House Museum of San Bartolomé as the backdrop for his new fashion campaign, in which he will reflect his latest collection. Machín relied on the work and experience of photographer Xosé Abeijón as the author of the photographs, framed in the main hall and the courtyard of this house, and with the collaboration of stylist and makeup artist Yanire Ezcurra, in a production that lasted a little over 7 hours.
Five local models lent their image for the firm's upcoming advertising campaign, which will be disseminated "in various formats, from the website to different fashion editorials, in specialized press, thanks to all the graphic material collected," says the young designer.
Oswaldo Machín, winner of the latest edition of the Canary Islands Young Designers competition, expressed during the session that it was "a pleasure and an honor to show the world his most wintery collection, in a setting like the Mayor Guerra House." Machín pointed out the potential that his municipality and his Island, in general, have "as natural sets for the fashion industry."
Inspired by the movie "Barbarella"
The photographed collection is titled "Luxury Style", and the designer assures that it is "inspired by the movie "Barbarella", where the woman acquires a sophisticated and very futuristic warrior look".
Hence, the puffed shapes of the sleeves in boleros or skirts with found planks, the cocktail and evening garments, especially designed for Christmas parties and special events, and the clean look with very white complexions, "which give importance to the gaze."
Oswaldo Machín strongly bets on black as the main color in his new collection, to mix with pinks, in their different shades: from the softest and raspberry tones, to eggplant.
