The different emergency teams of the island gathered last Saturday at the II Meeting "The emergency is you", which took place in the Plaza de la Villa, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and in which about 30 people participated.
The event, framed in the Fiestas del Carmen of Teguise 2009, was organized by the Group of Volunteers of Civil Protection of Teguise, with the support of the Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote. It also had the participation of different volunteer personnel from the groups of "Civil Protection" of Arrecife, Tinajo and Teguise, as well as the personnel of Emerlan.
The different activities were starred by both human and material resources that the different emergency teams have.
The dogs of the canine unit of Emerlan caught the attention of the children who participated in the meeting, as well as the ladder truck of firefighters, which took them to the top of the church tower.
According to what they explain from the Group of Volunteers of Civil Protection of Teguise, "the event culminated with the refreshment of fraternity among all those present".
