Around 100 kilos of candies and sweets, as well as many surprises and small party toys, is what the 9 piñatas that are waiting to be beaten by children, and not so children, will contain next Sunday, March 1, starting at 5:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds.

The Department of Festivities of the Arrecife City Council wants, in this way, to recover the "Piñata Sunday" for the Arrecife Carnival, a tradition that, according to popular memory, dates back to the 70s, in which it was celebrated in the area known as El Almacén de César Manrique. In the early 80s it moved to the Parque Islas Canarias and from the mid-80s until today it had not been carried out again.

In addition to the attraction of the piñatas, which will have shapes ranging from a star to a means of transport, passing through animals or fruits, during the three hours that the activity lasts, games, contests, raffles, magic and juggling performances will take place.
