The parish of San Ginés, after the celebration of Palm Sunday, celebrated Holy Wednesday. At 7:30 p.m., the Holy Mass began, presided over by Jesús Sastre García, Chaplain and Professor of Theology, assisted by four fellow priests.

This celebration of Holy Wednesday is very special because in it all the parishes receive the Holy Oils that were consecrated last Tuesday in the Holy Chrism Mass. Eucharist that was presided over by the Bishop of the Diocese in the Holy Cathedral Church of Santa Ana and concelebrated by the entire Presbytery of the Diocese, a sign of Communion of the ordained ministers with the diocesan pastor. In it the priests renew the promises of the day of their ordination.

After the Holy Mass, the procession of the Holy Encounter began, touring the main streets of the city. Part of the processional route is started by the Music Band "La Unión Musical de Lanzarote", directed by Professor Pepe Artiles, followed closely by the images of Jesus the Nazarene accompanied by Veronica, the Magdalene and Saint John. A few minutes later and with a different route, the image of Our Lady of Sorrows takes to the streets, surrounded by her Disciples and the public behind her until reaching La Plazuela where the Holy Encounter takes place. Mother and Son meet face to face before the watchful eyes of the parishioners who experience this Encounter in overwhelming silence.

Next, the presiding priest, Jesús Sastre, writes about the tortuous path that Jesus had to go through to reach Calvary where they crucified him. After the description, the procession continues to the church and while the images cross the portico of the church, they are bid farewell with applause by the public.
